We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-oriented Specifier Account Manager to join our team at our Slough headquarters. In this role, the Specifier Account Manager will lead our business development activities with professional Interior Design firms as well as generating leads within Leisure, Hospitality, Retail, and Facilities Maintenance sectors, in partnership with our Authorised Stockist partners. The ideal candidate will be colour and design-focused, demonstrating a genuine passion and enthusiasm for design and architecture.

About the role:

This role will be accountable for developing business and delivering sales growth with designers and facilities managers across a variety of sectors to grow market share and reinforce Benjamin Moore’s position as a leading paint brand in the UK market.   The Specifier Account Manager will be responsible for supporting customers in the process of developing product and colour specifications, following a project from the planning stages to successful completion, resulting in paint sales. 

Responsibilities

Market and Client Focus:

  • Lead business development activities with professional Interior Design firms
  • Generate leads within Leisure, Hospitality, Retail, and Facilities Maintenance sectors, in partnership with our Sales team and Authorised Stockist partners
  • Work with US National Accounts team to leverage opportunities for specification of Benjamin Moore within the UK
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments in design and architecture.
  • Visit UK specifiers, architects, and design practices to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Conduct Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions to educate clients on our products and services.

 Technical Proficiency:

  • Possess high technical proficiency to effectively communicate and address client needs.

 Complaint Resolution:

  • Efficiently resolve customer complaints and concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction.

 Lead Generation:

  • Collaborate with our showroom teams, field-based sales team and Authorised Stockist partners to sales teams maximize lead conversion.

 Event Participation:

  • Conduct and participate in events, including industry exhibitions, to promote our products and services.

Qualifications

 Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2-5 years of experience directly with the architectural and design communities
  • Thorough understanding of specifications and finishing schedule writing
  • Excellent communication, listening and public speaking skills
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of design and architecture, with a keen eye for colour and aesthetics.
  • Excellent technical proficiency to comprehend and convey complex product specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of both the internal organization and with external partners.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective time management skills
  • High sales aptitude, self-motivated
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are a must
  • Ability to work evenings & weekends when necessary
  • Ability to travel overnight

Location: Slough HQ (within 50 miles) Territory/London
